Springbok Casino review for South African players
Springbok Casino has been aimed squarely at South African players since 2012, and it shows in the details: everything is priced in rands, the banking page takes BetterEFT and InstantEFT payments straight from a South African bank account, and the coupon codes are named after the site itself.
It suits a slot player who wants to bank in rand from R51, and the headline offers are up to R11,500 across three deposits, R250 free with no deposit and 25% cashback for anyone who plays without a bonus. This review is based on Springbok’s own pages and on the casino itself.

Using Springbok on a phone
Springbok’s iPhone page says no app download is needed, so on an iPhone you play in the browser across two websites. The main site at springbokcasino.co.za holds the offers, banking and help pages, and it opens with Sign Up and Log In buttons, a menu button, the R11,500 welcome banner with a three-step guide to finding your coupons, the progressive jackpot total and a list of current winners. Its menu holds Home, Mobile, Instant Play, App, Download, Banking, Promotions, Support, Game Reviews and Online Casino.
The games sit in a separate lobby at lobby.springbokcasino.co.za, which opens when you tap Instant Play.
Across the top of the lobby are Sign Up, Log In, a search button and a menu button, with a lobby jackpot counter and a ticker of recent winners under them, then three tabs: Home, New Games and Popular. The Home tab runs down in rows that each scroll sideways with arrow buttons: New Games, Popular, Casual Games, Slots, Double Comps, Table Games, Video Poker, Specialty and Progressives. A bar along the bottom gives Home, Search and Login, and a round chat button sits at the bottom right.
From the Springbok home page it takes about four taps to reach a table game: the menu, Instant Play, the arrow on the Table Games row and then the game. When you know the name of a game, typing it into Search is quicker. Tapping a game brings up the log-in box first, so you need an account before a game opens.
The game lobby
Slots and software
Springbok runs on Realtime Gaming software, the only studio named anywhere on its site. The home page counts more than 300 casino games, with about 150 of them in the mobile casino, while Springbok’s iPhone page puts the mobile library at more than 100 games, and new games are added every month.
Slots lead the lobby. When we looked, the New Games row opened with Treasure Sparks, Hen Ferno and Fu Long Treasures, the Popular row with Olympus Thunderhold, Fu Long Treasures and Prosperity Pots: Lucky Coins, and the Slots row with 5 Wishes, Achilles and Achilles Deluxe. The top games list on the home page included Mighty Drums, The Cash Is Right, Sweet 16 Blast! and Cash Bandits 3, and Springbok’s game pages also name Cleopatra’s Gold, Bubble Bubble and Cash Bandits 2.
Progressive jackpots added up to R55.5 million on the home page on 27 September 2026, and the two biggest pools in the lobby stood at R18.2 million on Aztec’s Millions and R13.2 million. Aztec’s Millions, Jackpot Pinatas and Megasaur are the progressives Springbok names on its slots page. The jackpot counter at the top of the lobby is a separate pool that you opt into after logging in. Once you join, the terms put a compulsory R0.08 bet into it on every slot spin, free bonuses cannot pay into it, and you can opt out again.
Casual, table and video poker games
The Casual Games row holds Fu Long Plinko, Galaxy Blast and Hen Ferno. Hen Ferno is a turn-based chicken game in which you decide after each step whether to cash out at the multiplier shown or push on for a bigger one, and there is no separate crash games section.
Table games cover blackjack in versions such as Pontoon, Super 21 and Perfect Pairs, roulette in French, European and American versions, baccarat, and poker games including Caribbean Stud, Caribbean Hold’em and Pai Gow, with Red Dog, War, Andar Bahar and 32 Cards alongside. Video poker runs from Jacks or Better to Bonus Deuces Wild, with up to 100 hands at once, and every video poker game plays on a phone. The specialty section has keno, bingo and scratch cards.
Live casino
Every row in the lobby holds software games, and none of them is a live dealer section, so Springbok has no real croupiers on a video feed. Springbok’s Realtime Gaming page mentions live dealers in its general text about the studio, but the lobby offers none. If you want live tables, the licensed apps on our list that carry Evolution tables have them.
The winners board
Springbok publishes a running list of big payouts with first names, initials and amounts. When we looked it was headed by R150,000 and R125,000 on Real Series video slots. Nine of the 50 entries were above R40,000, the rest ran down to R14,227.50, and the only table game on it was a R36,000 roulette win. The lobby shows a second, live list of smaller wins, which ran from R207.52 to R530.44 on the day we read it. The terms say that accepting a prize gives Springbok permission to use your first name, initials or screen name in announcements like these.
The welcome package
Springbok splits its welcome across three deposits using two coupon codes:
- SPRINGBOK100: 100% up to R1,500 on your first deposit
- SPRINGBOK50: 50% up to R5,000, usable on your second and third deposits
Use SPRINGBOK100 once and SPRINGBOK50 twice and the most you can get is R11,500, but only on deposits of R1,500, then R10,000 and R10,000 again, which is R21,500 in all. The first coupon gives the most for each rand you put in: a R1,500 deposit plays as R3,000, while each 50% coupon needs a R10,000 deposit to pay its full R5,000.
When you sign up, Springbok adds the welcome package to your account under Coupons, one coupon for each of the three deposits. You still redeem each one in the cashier under Redeem Coupon before you deposit, because the terms say a code cannot be added to a deposit afterwards.
Springbok’s general terms set the rules every coupon follows unless its promotion says otherwise:
- Deposit coupons carry 30 times playthrough on the deposit plus the bonus, and each bonus has to be played through before you can withdraw.
- Slots, keno, bingo, scratch cards, 7 Stud Poker, Pai Gow Poker and European Slot Poker count towards playthrough. A bet on any other game before you finish voids the bonus and its winnings.
- The biggest bet allowed while a bonus is active is R100.
- Bonuses are open to players from South Africa, Namibia, Eswatini, Lesotho and Mozambique, as long as no withdrawal is pending.
Worth knowing: the 30 times counts your deposit as well as the bonus, so a R1,500 deposit with the full R1,500 bonus means R90,000 of bets before you can withdraw.
The R250 free bonus
Springbok also runs a no deposit coupon, TEST-SPRINGBOK, worth R250. The promotions page puts the maximum payout at R1,250, and you enter the code in the cashier under Redeem Coupon. The terms set a playthrough of 60 times the bonus on no deposit coupons, which is R15,000 of bets. They also cap what free money can pay out at five times the bonus, which is where the R1,250 comes from.
Three more rules in the terms apply to free bonuses: you redeem a no deposit bonus within a month of receiving it, a player who has never deposited can cash out free bonus winnings only once, and a player whose last deposit is more than three months old cannot withdraw from a free bonus.
300% up to R9,000
The largest match on the site is SPRINGBOK300. Springbok’s own example is a R200 deposit turning into R800 of play, which is the clearest way to see it: your deposit plus three times that in bonus money. The full R9,000 needs a R3,000 deposit, and because the match is over 100%, the terms cap what you can cash out from it at 15 times your deposit.
Cashback instead of a bonus
If you would rather not play through a deposit bonus, Springbok pays 25% cashback on deposits made without one. Springbok publishes the rules in full:
- Your balance has to be between R0 and R10 when you claim.
- The cap is R3,000 back, which means deposits of R12,000.
- Playthrough is 10 times on slots, keno, bongo and scratch cards, and can differ on other games.
- There is no cap on what you can withdraw from cashback winnings.
- You cannot combine it with a deposit bonus.
- You can claim on busted deposits going back up to 90 days, and you can let several build up before claiming.
- VIP players get 40% instead of 25%, according to the terms.
Working out which offer is worth it
Springbok’s terms let you work out each option before you deposit. Take a R500 deposit:
- With SPRINGBOK100 you play with R1,000 and need R30,000 of bets before you can withdraw.
- With SPRINGBOK300 you play with R2,000, need R60,000 of bets, and can cash out at most R7,500.
- With no coupon you play your own R500 and can withdraw once you have bet it through one time. If it runs down below R10, the 25% cashback gives you R125 to play through 10 times, which is R1,250 of bets.
The coupons give you more money to play with, and playing without one needs far fewer bets before you can withdraw. A player who deposits a few hundred rand at a time and wants winnings out quickly does better with no coupon and the cashback, and a player who plays long slot sessions anyway gets more play from the coupons.
The offers that run every month
The welcome coupons are one part of it. Springbok runs a set of repeat offers that matter more if you stay:
- Lucky 7: a 100% bonus up to R777, released on the 7th of every month to the first 77 players who claim it. The code arrives by email and in the casino message centre, so you have to be watching for it.
- Comp points: every R10 you bet earns one point, and 100 points converts to R1 under Redeem Comps in the cashier. That works out at a tenth of a percent back on what you stake, the minimum you can redeem is 100 points, and the Game of the Month earns double, one point for every R5.
- Slot tournaments: several daily tournaments and a monthly freeroll with a guaranteed prize pool Springbok puts in five or six figures.
Springbok says its other promotions are posted after you register, in the casino message centre, by email, on its blog and on Facebook, so the promotions page is not the full list.
Free spins and other coupons
Springbok announces free spins in its press releases, and through September 2026 it offered 25 free spins on Cash Bandits 3 for Heritage Month. The terms say winnings from free spins have to be played through 60 times the value of the spins before you can withdraw. Springbok’s no deposit casino page also lists QUICKIE-BOOST, a 250% match up to R5,000.
Tournaments and freerolls in the download casino
Paid tournaments charge an entry fee, and the field size plus the entry fee set the prize pool. Freerolls cost nothing to enter, give you a set number of credits, and let you buy more credits as add-ons. Standings are decided on credits held when the clock runs out, and winnings go straight into your account.
You join from the Tournaments section of the download casino. Buy-ins, add-ons and re-buys come out of your real money balance, and bonus money cannot be used for them. If a tournament is cancelled, the buy-in goes back to your account, and if you are disconnected, your total stays where it was unless you reconnect before the time runs out.
Banking
Springbok lists five ways to move money, all in rands:
| Method | Minimum | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| BetterEFT | R51 deposit | Instant in, 48 to 72 hours out |
| Visa or Mastercard | R150 deposit | Instant in |
| Bitcoin | R250 deposit, R500 withdrawal | Instant in, 48 to 72 hours out |
| InstantEFT | R71 deposit | Instant in, 48 to 72 hours out |
| Wire transfer | R500 withdrawal | Up to 2 business days |
The payment logos in the footer also show Discover, Diners Club, PAYZ and EasyEFT alongside Visa and Mastercard. BetterEFT has the lowest minimum, at R51, and pays straight from your bank account with no card and no registration. It works with Standard Bank, FNB, Nedbank, Absa and Capitec, and it charges no fees in either direction, though your bank may charge its standard EFT fee.
Payout days and limits
Springbok processes withdrawals from Monday to Friday, and its withdrawal page says the process begins 48 hours, or two business days, after it receives your request.
The weekly maximum withdrawal is R25,000, and every deposit has to be wagered at least once before a withdrawal is accepted. Withdrawals normally go back to the method you deposited with, and Springbok has the final say on the method. The minimum and maximum for each method show in the cashier: tap Withdraw, then the i icon next to the method.
Download and install on Android, iPhone and Huawei
Springbok’s mobile casino runs in the browser on iPhone and Android, and on an iPhone the site prompts you to add it to your home screen so it opens like an app. Android players can also install the Springbok Casino app as an APK from Springbok’s own site. It is not on Google Play, so Android asks you to allow Unknown Sources during the install. The App link in Springbok’s menu points phone players to the browser casino.
To install it, open Springbok’s Android app page in your phone’s browser, tap the download link for the APK and accept the Unknown Sources prompt, then open the Springbok Casino app and log in. Springbok has offered the app since 2018. A search on Google Play for Springbok Casino brings up apps from other developers that use the name, among them a notes and timers tool, a home workout app and a casual game with no real money play, so install only the APK from springbokcasino.co.za.
Springbok links no Huawei AppGallery app, so on a Huawei phone you play in the browser, which Springbok says works on iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows devices.
Slot tournaments and freerolls run only in the download casino for a desktop or laptop, so a phone player cannot enter them. Coupons, deposits and withdrawals all work on the phone, and a bonus taken on one platform carries over to the others because it is one account.
Sign-up and verification
- Register in your own name. Tap Sign Up on the home page or in the lobby. Springbok allows one active account per player and only pays out to accounts you own, and its terms let it hold payment on deposits from a card or bank account in someone else’s name.
- Give a working email address and phone number. The terms say an account needs both to receive a bonus.
- Find your coupons. The three welcome coupons appear under Coupons as soon as you sign up.
- Pick your deposit method. BetterEFT pays straight from your bank with no card details, cards are instant, and Bitcoin suits anyone who would rather not use a bank at all.
- Redeem the coupon before you deposit. Open the cashier, choose Redeem Coupon, enter the code and then make the deposit.
- Decide bonus or cashback. The two cannot be combined, so choose before you deposit rather than after.
- Send your documents early. Upload your ID and proof of address through Account Verification in the cashier on day one, so they are approved before you ask for a withdrawal.
Before your first withdrawal, Springbok asks for a colour copy of both sides of a government-issued photo ID and a proof of address no older than 90 days, sent through Account Verification in the cashier. A South African driver’s licence is not accepted as the photo ID, and if you pay in or cash out with crypto, you also need a photo of yourself holding the ID. These are the same two things most South African licensed apps check when they ask for your FICA documents: who you are and where you live. Under normal circumstances you send them once.
Springbok accepts a South African ID with no expiry date. If it asks for documents and does not get them within four weeks, the terms let it lock the account and void winnings and pending withdrawals.
Licence and safety
Springbok Casino’s terms and conditions, version 1.6, took effect on 4 March 2026 and are published in full on its website, and the footer carries an 18+ badge and a link to file a player dispute. Springbok names no licence, regulator or operating company in its footer, terms, privacy policy or banking pages, and its banking page describes it as a global e-commerce entity. We searched the National Gambling Board’s list of verified operators, which the board builds from the provincial licensing authorities and last updated on 4 September 2026, and Springbok is not on it.
That makes it an offshore casino serving South Africans, and our list of the best online casino apps in South Africa groups it with the other offshore rand casinos, apart from the provincially licensed apps. The practical difference is that a South African provincial board has no authority over your account.
On safety, Springbok’s online casino page says its transactions are encrypted, and its privacy policy lists encryption of sensitive information, secure servers and regular security audits. The terms also set these rules:
- A complaint about a game or your account has to reach support in writing within one hour of the problem.
- An account with no log-in for six months counts as inactive, and its balance may be voided.
- You are responsible for any tax on your winnings.
- Springbok does not accept players living in Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands or the Netherlands Antilles.
Support
Springbok’s support runs around the clock. You can use live chat, email help@springbokcasino.co.za, or book a phone call from the support page. Cashback is claimed through the support team rather than a button in the cashier. On a phone the live chat opens from the round button at the bottom right of the lobby, and Springbok’s withdrawal page says the support team is free to contact.
Responsible gambling tools
Springbok sets deposit limits and self-exclusion through its support team, and you can contact it at any time. Ask for a daily or monthly deposit limit, or ask to self-exclude for a period you choose, starting at one month. You cannot play during that period, and once it ends you can reactivate the account.
Springbok’s responsible gaming page points players and their families to the National Responsible Gambling Programme, which offers free counselling and a 24-hour toll-free helpline.
What players say about Springbok
Springbok has a page on Hellopeter, the South African review site, where players post reviews. When we read it in September 2026, the recent reviews praised the slot selection and the payouts, some asked for more payment methods and game shows, and the complaints were mostly about how long withdrawals take, the verification checks and bonus winnings being taken off. Springbok’s terms explain most of these: withdrawals are processed from Monday to Friday and start two business days after the request, documents are checked before the first withdrawal, and a bet on a game that does not count voids a bonus and what it has won.
How Springbok compares with the apps on our list

Verdict
Springbok suits a slot player who wants rand banking, low minimum deposits and a cashback deal at 10 times playthrough. Take the first coupon, skip the 50% ones unless you deposit heavily, and ask support about cashback if you prefer playing without a bonus. A player who wants live dealer tables or a provincially licensed casino will find both at the licensed apps on our list. Our how we rate casino apps page explains the 4.3/5 score.
