The welcome offer and wagering
Betway’s promotions feed lists the Welcome Offer as a Welcome Pack of free spins, free flights and free bets for new customers, running from 13 August 2025 to 31 January 2027. The pack has three parts, and the terms set one qualifying wager for the whole pack:

Who qualifies
- New customers: the offer is open to all new Betway customers, who qualify automatically but must register before claiming.
- The qualifying wager: you sign up and make a minimum R50 wager, and the sports version is 5 legs at total odds of 3.0 or more, on a settled bet that is not cashed out.
- Who can claim: Betway’s promotion terms are open to people aged 18 or over who are South African citizens or permanently live in South Africa.
- Where it shows: the sign-up screen shows the pack as coupons, and Welcome Pack offers stay on the home page for 7 days after registration.
How the numbers work
- Qualifying wager: R50 at total odds of 3.0 returns R150 when all five legs win.
- R10 free bet: at odds of 4.0 the potential return is R40, and only the R30 of winnings is added to your account, because the free stake is not paid back. The maximum return on any free bet is R100 000.
Worth knowing: the pack arrives after a settled sports wager of at least R50 on 5 legs at total odds of 3.0 or more, and a bet that is cashed out does not count towards it.
Casino and sports bonus wagering
Betway’s General Terms set the casino games bonus at 30 times on casino games within 30 days of the bonus being credited, so a R100 casino bonus means R3,000 of bets. Betway’s bonuses page says the minimum varies for every bonus, so read the terms shown with the bonus you take. The games count by different amounts:

- Sports bonus: the General Terms ask for 5 times on sport within 30 days, at odds of 2.00 or more on a multi bet of 3 selections, so a R100 credit needs R500 of sports bets, while the bonuses page gives a lower 3 times figure, so read the terms shown with the bonus you take.
- Withdrawals and bet size: a withdrawal made while a bonus is active forfeits it, and a single bet of 15% or more of the bonus value counts as irregular play, which is R15 on a R100 bonus.

Android
Betway says Android users download the app from its own page because real money gambling apps are not allowed on Google Play. Take the file from the link on betway.co.za only.
- Open the app page. Go to betway.co.za/betway-app in your phone’s browser and tap the Android banner to download the .apk file.
- Accept the install prompt. If the install fails, Betway says to enable Allow Unknown Sources, and you can switch it off again afterwards.
- Find the app. Betway says it then sits on your home screen.
- The right name: a Google Play search in South Africa for Betway lists Betway Scores, a scores app from the publisher SportCC, and Betway’s own Betway Scores App page describes it as real-time notifications for your favourite teams and leagues. BW Scores is from the same publisher.
- Other listings: a search for Betway South Africa also lists Betway Tap to Pay from Halo Dot and Online Sport ZA from azamiklok, and neither is the betting app.
iPhone
- Listing: Apple lists the app as Betway Sports Betting & Casino, sold by RAGING RIVER TRADING (PTY) LTD, and it is free.
- Version: 11.4.2 was released on 7 September 2026, the app first came out on 1 September 2017, and the age rating is 17+.
- Features: the description lists esports betting, Early Cash Out and sports bets from as little as R1.
- Needs: iOS 13.0 or later, and you log in with your existing Betway username and password.
Huawei
- Route: Betway says to open AppGallery on the Huawei phone, search for Betway and tap Install, or tap the Huawei banner on the app page.
- AppGallery search: AppGallery’s Betway search lists Betway Scores from SportCC ApS first, so check the seller is Betway before you install.
Data Free
- What it covers: Betway’s Data Free page says you can place pre-match and live bets and make Four to Score predictions without using your data.
- Where: the page says the offering works through the Betway App, and that standard data charges apply otherwise.
Sign-up and verification
Betway’s terms allow one account per person, and the account number is your mobile telephone number, with a password to log in.
- Tap Sign Up. The mobile site carries Login and Sign Up in the header and in the bottom bar.
- Enter your number and password. The sign-up screen asks for a +27 mobile number, a password, your first name and surname as on your ID or passport, and an email, with an option to enter a signup code.
- Give your ID details. The next step asks for your ID number, date of birth, source of funds and preferred language.
- Finish verification. If your ID is not verified automatically, email a copy to fica@betway.co.za, and Betway activates the account once it is verified.
A customer must be a natural person of at least 18 who is not on the register of excluded persons, and Betway’s terms say no account is created until identity is conclusively established. They list the use of a VPN to get round the geographic limits as Prohibited Activity.
FICA documents
- Proof of identity: an ID document, with both sides of a smart card ID or driver’s licence, in colour with all four corners visible.
- Bank statement: a valid statement for a South African bank account, no older than 3 months from the registration date.
- Proof of address: a utility bill or similar document dated within three months, which Betway says it usually asks for later, when you request a withdrawal.
- Upload and time: a customer who is not automatically approved logs in and taps Upload Now on the pop-up, and Betway’s FICA page says verification may take up to 48 hours, with more at peak times and on weekends.
- Cards: if you deposit by credit or debit card, send a copy of the front of the card, as Betway’s terms say withdrawals fail without it.

- Home page: it opens on a black header with a three-line menu icon, the Betway logo, a white Login button, a green Sign Up button and a search icon.

Cash Out, Build a Bet and Win Boost
- Cash Out: it takes an early payout before a bet settles on single, multiple and system bets, pre-game and in-play, and bets with each-way selections are not covered.
- Partial and Auto Cash Out: Partial Cash Out takes part of a bet and leaves the rest to settle, and Auto Cash Out cashes out when the offer reaches your figure.
- Build a Bet: it combines 2 to 10 outcomes from one soccer match into one bet, such as Match Result, First Goal Scorer and Both Teams to Score, on pre-match selections, and Build a Bet betslips are not eligible for Cash Out.
Win Boost adds a percentage to Multi Bet winnings for each leg with odds of 1.2 or more, on cash wagers on pre-game selections. On a R100 win with 10 legs, the 15% boost adds R15.

The scale reaches 100% at 26 legs and 1000% at 50 legs, and taking an early Cash Out on a Win Boost betslip forfeits the boost. The General Terms table gives 2.5% as the start for two events, so check the percentage on your betslip.

- Bet Influencer: share a bet of 5 or more selections as a code and earn 4% of every wager made with it, so R1,000 of bets on your code pays R40, up to R20,000 per code, and the feed lists it from 15 August 2024 to 31 December 2026.

- Betway Rewards: you earn points on every cash wager, and 1 point equals R1.00 when you convert it to your cash balance.

Betway’s footer names two companies and two provincial regulators, and says both companies are licensed to promote Betway South Africa by their provincial authorities. It describes every game on the site as a fixed-odds betting event.
